They said...

De Dannan were always a step up above the rest. Great music, Alec Finn is most definitely underrated for his influence and addition to the De Danann sound. Ringo was brilliant, Jackie Daly a genius, Frankie is quite a brilliant musician and of all the singers they gave a platform to Maura O'Connell and Eleanor Shanley will always stand out. Two truly gifted vocalists in my view and their records easily fill up a few Beatles and Chieftain gaps on my music shelf.
Mike Hanrahan (Stockton’s Wing)

I like De Dannan, Altan & and Dervish but won't be a fan by any stretch of the imagination. I must say I prefer traditional music played in a bar by a bunch of musicians just coming together and playing unrehearsed and just playing together often for the first time, as opposed to it being overly polished and produced for me that kills the passion, energy and magic of it.
Jack Dublin (In Tua Nua)

De Dannann are like great wine, you just want more!
Fran Breen (The Waterboys)

Great energetic music, but they had no pipes! You need a set of pipes in a band!
John McSherry (Lúnasa)

I did a tour recently of Norway with Andrew Murray and the old De Dannan sans Frankie and it was wonderful to hear their sound live for the first time. Alec & Johnny played so well together.
Gavin Ralston (Musician/Producer)

The Chieftains and De Danann are two groups who have greatly contributed to Irish music.
Greg Boland (Moving Hearts)

I am very happy that De Danann featuring Eleanor Shanley are about to release one of my songs on their new album. Looking forward to hearing it, as Eleanor has already recorded several of my songs, including Flame, which is one the songs I'm most proud to have written.
